Written by 2015 Verity Bargate Winner Stephen Jackson and directed by Soho Theatre Artistic Director Steve Marmion, Roller Diner is a tragic-comic new musical starring Olivier Award winner David Thaxton, Lucy McCormick, Joe Dixon, Rina Fatania, Lucie Shorthouse and Ricky Oakley. Set in a post-industrial everyman English setting and in development for the past two years, it presciently imagines the current state of the nation and the Brexit debate about immigration and identity. Following celebrated wins at the 2017 Olivier Awards this week: Best Actress in a Musical for Amber Riley (Effie White); and Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Adam J Bernard (Jimmy Early), Sonia Friedman Productions is delighted to confirm that the highly anticipated Dreamgirls Original London Cast Recording will be released by Sony Masterworks Broadway on Friday 12 May 2017 via Amazon, iTunes, and all usual channels.

This was the company's 21st entry in a series of themed cabarets, and set a new attendance record. A company of more than 60 artists will bring The Iliad to life in a durational reading on Friday 14 August. The reading will begin at the British Museum and culminate on the Almeida stage. The marathon reading is the latest event in the theatre's Almeida Greeks Festival which has so far seen Robert Icke's critically acclaimed production of Oresteia transfer to Trafalgar Studios in the West End and James Macdonald's production of Bakkhai play to sold out houses at the Almeida.
