Kicking off their 4th season in style, (mostly)musicals will return to the E Spot Lounge on Monday, January 16 (at the new time of 7:30pm) with songsforaHAPPYnewYEAR -- the company's 21st entry in a series of themed cabarets. "We are excited to move into a new year and a new season of (mostly)musicals -- and we want to get it off to a HAPPY start! There are no sad songs allowed at *this* show," explains producer Amy Francis Schott.
(mostly)musicals is happy to be welcoming in 2017 with our annual evening of fun and uplifting songs! Recently added to the stellar lineup are: Michael-Leon Wooley (B'way including LITTLE SHOP [Audrey 2] and FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE, film including Disney's THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG [Louie the alligator] and DREAMGIRLS [Tiny Joe Dixon]); Eric Michael Krop (B'way: GODSPELL, debut album: 'Greater Things'; Lesley McKinnell (national tours of WICKED and GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE); David LaMarr (currently on JERSEY BOYS national tour, Ovation nominated for DREAMGIRLS at La Mirada); and voice-over artist, actor, and vocalist Randy Guiaya (3 Filipino Tenors, voice of Waze).
They join the previously announced: Amanda Kruger (lead singer: Everly Snodgrass), Caitlin Gallogly (RECORDED IN HOLLYWOOD), Eric B. Anthony (B'way including: THE LION KING, MERRILY at the Wallis), Jason Peter Kennedy (JOSEPH at 3D), Justin Michael Wilcox (Ovation nomineefor FIRST DATE at La Mirada), Kelley Dorney (LEND ME A TENOR at La Mirada), Kristina Miller (SERRANO THE MUSICAL), Matt Valle (SacRed Fools' SKULLDUGGERY), Tiana Okoye (HAIRSPRAY LIVE, Elsa in FROZEN Live at the Hyperion), and more!We'll have a special guest performance from songwriter Selda Sahin with Eric Krop; and Drew Fornarola and Lesley McKinnell will perform a song from the exciting new musical CLAUDIO QUEST (making its West Coast premiere starting January 27 at The Chance Theater in Anaheim)!
Plus Emily Clark and Mark Jacobson will entertain you in the show AND the open mic afterparty, and we have Gregory Nabours on the piano!
