Their daughter, Christine arrives home with her Jewish fiance but is afraid to tell her mother she is converting. Adam, the middle child brings a girl Katie home with him only to seek revenge, and their youngest son arrives with a big bag of grudge. Chaos ensues when the parents attempt to hide Grandpa's death.

Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Milk Like Sugar at PH; the current Marie Antoinette, Orlando, The Scene, Luck of the Irish), the production will begin previews Friday evening, February 7 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Sunday, March 2 at 7PM. Chromolume Theatre has announced its next production, The Musical of Musicals, The Musical! The show has a book by JoAnne Bogart and Eric Rockwell, music by Rockwell, and lyrics by Bogart, and will be directed for Chromolume by Kristin Towers-Rowles. With choreography by Anna Rubin and music direction by Richard Berent, opening is set for tonight, November 8 at 8pm. The Musical of Musicals will play a strictly limited engagement through December 8 only.

The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene is presenting a remarkable concert event celebrating the folk legend and actor Theodore Bikel in anticipation of his 90th birthday in May 2014. "Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza" will fill the stage at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, on Monday December 2 at 7:30pm with one rare musical treat after another.

Last Friday marked the first time I watched a live theater performance from a swivel chair. The occasion was Big Dance Theater's presentation of Ich, Kurbisgeist at New York Live Arts. Directed by Paul Lazar and written by Sibyl Kempson, the work is a chaotic and humorous collage of sound, movement, and visual art.
