Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-nominated composer-and-musician Don Byron plays Westhampton Beach as part of National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene's10th Annual Labor Day Weekend Concert.

A few months ago, it was announed that Joanna Froggatt, known for her role as DOWNTON ABBEY maid 'Anna,' would star as 'Becca' in the London premiere of David Lindsay-Abaire's RABBIT HOLE. The play was set to begin previews at the Vaudeville Theatre on September 11. But recently, The Stage reported that this date has been postponed due to 'scheduling issues.' Producers Creative Management and Productions, James Quaife Productions, and Celia Atkin released a statement saying 'Our production of Rabbit Hole will be postponed from the planned September opening at the Vaudeville Theatre as due to a late shift in schedules, it is unable to go ahead at this time.'

The language of the Holy Spirit... direct from God? Spirited Hands Productions presents a new American musical based on the fascinating true story of visionary artist J.B. Murray. The world premiere of Visionary Man opens tonight, July 26 at the Hudson Mainstage in Hollywood.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced today that Wayne Brady will star as Fred/Petruchio in the Cole Porter Broadway musical KISS ME, KATE. The multi-Emmy Award winning Brady will head a cast of 17. Epps will direct the 2014-2015 Season opener, which will run from September 16- October 12, 2014 with the official press opening on September 21. The production also stars Merle Dandridge (Broadway's Spamalot and Tarzan) as Lily/Kate.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced yesterday that Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice will make its World Premiere as the Centerpiece selection for the upcoming 52nd New York Film Festival (September 26 - October 12) on Saturday, October 4.

The National Theatre has just announced that the Young Vic theatre's hotly-anticipated new production of A Streetcar Named Desire, with Gillian Anderson as Blanche DuBois, will be broadcast live from the Young Vic's London home to The Ridgefield Playhouse (and to cinemas worldwide) on Tuesday, September 16, at 7 p.m. This is the fastest-selling show in the Young Vic's history, and tickets are incredibly scarce, so the opportunity to see it on the wide-screen is not-to-be-missed!

BroadwayWorld.com has confirmed that Broadway legend Elaine Stritch died this morning, at home in Birmingham, MI. The star was 89 years old.
