WXYZ-TV To Expand With New Studio In Heart Of Downtown Detroit

Sixty-six years after WXYZ-TV Channel 7 flickered to life on TV sets across Southeast Michigan from its first Woodward Avenue studio in Detroit, the station is expanding its operations with a new, highly visible studio in the heart of downtown. The glass-enclosed, outward-facing studio will be located inside the ground-floor lobby of Chase Tower, 611 Woodward Ave., which is owned and managed by Bedrock Real Estate Services.

Spotlight Theatre to Stage A FEW GOOD MEN, 8/30-9/27

Spotlight Theatre will celebrate the company's 50th theatrical production with their presentation of the courtroom thriller, A Few Good Men, opening Saturday, August 30 at 7:30 pm. The show will run Fridays through Sundays, and will close on Saturday, September 27th. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. All performances will be at the John Hand Theater, 7653 E. 1st Place, Denver.

A.I.R. Gallery Presents IF THESE WALLS..., 8/29-9/28

For the month of September, A.I.R. Gallery artists will show new work and create a series of site-specific installations to transform one of the 19th-century houses at Nolan Park on Governors Island. Re-enlivening its abandoned interiors, If These Walls… includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, works on paper, and site-specific installations. Inspired by the location in Nolan Park on Governors Island, the artists have envisioned works that hold conversations with the site and history of the house. If These Walls... will open onFriday, August 29, 2014. Visiting hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through September, from 11am to 5pm. The exhibition will also be open on Labor Day.

Jackalope's 5th Annual Living Newspapers Festival to Run 8/20-24

Jackalope Theatre Company presents the 5th Annual Living Newspapers Festival.
