Stephen Petronio Company Announces Fifth Season Of BLOODLINES

In 2015, Stephen Petronio Company culminated its 30th anniversary 2014-15 season with a transformation: the launch of Bloodlines. This autobiographical project not only honors the lineage of American postmodern dance, but also traces the influences and impulses that have shaped choreographer Stephen Petronio, an artist uniquely positioned to preserve this postmodern tradition.

The Food Film Festival to Present the World Premiere of ANTHONY BOURDAIN PARTS UNKNOWN / LOWER EAST SIDE

The Food Film Festival returns to New York City for its 12th straight year! The five-day Festival will feature a series of events where food and film lovers get to Taste What They See on the Screen...right in their seats! At each event, guests are served the food from the films as they watch on the screen in the Festival theatre. That's always followed by an official Festival After-Party with more food, drinks and fun, served up by chefs and restaurants from New York City and beyond.

The 56th New York Film Festival Announces Complete Spotlight on Documentary Lineup

The complete lineup for the Spotlight on Documentary section of the 56th New York Film Festival, taking place September 28-October 14 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, has been announced. This year's series of dispatches from the front lines of nonfiction cinema features intimate portraits of artists, depictions of the quest for political and social justice, and much more.  

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE to Open in New York City This October

The Velvet Underground Experience, an intriguing new multi-media art and music exhibition spotlighting the iconic band's early NYC roots, will be opening in New York City on October 10.  It is the first global exhibition dedicated to the Velvet Underground and its influence on modern music, fashion, art & popular culture, set against the backdrop of the band's early days collaborating with Andy Warhol in NYC in the 1960s.  Co-presented by Bandsintown and Citi, the three-month exhibition will be located at 718 Broadway in Greenwich Village, paying homage as well to the neighborhood's deep artistic base.

Breaking: Keri Russell Will Join Adam Driver in BURN THIS on Broadway

Producer David Binder just announced today that Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell will join three-time Emmy Award nominee Adam Driver in the first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS. Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, BURN THIS will begin performances in March 2019 at a Broadway theater to be announced.

Chefs and restaurants from New York City and beyond will present dishes from around the world as guests watch and eat a menu of independent food films in the Festival Theatre, followed by an official Festival AfterParty with more food, drink and fun each night.

A look at Jean-Michel Basquiat's life pre-fame, and how New York City, the times, the people and the movements around him formed the artist he became, BOOM FOR REAL weaves the story of Jean-Michel and the city with never before seen works, writings and photographs.  Director Sara Driver worked closely and collaboratively with her friends and other artists who emerged from that scene: Nan Goldin, Jim Jarmusch, James Nares, Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quinones, Luc Sante and many others.

Nan Goldin And Lydia Lunch Honored By The Kitchen At Spring 2018 Gala

The Kitchen's Spring 2018 Gala celebrates Nan Goldin and Lydia Lunch, two iconic American artists whose careers were borne of, deeply influenced, and have now engrained in collective memory the underground artistic spirit and political underpinnings of pre-gentrification Downtown New York subcultures (May 16). The evening features performances by New York's own post-punk band Bush Tetras, saxophonist and vocalist James Chance, and Australian singer JG Thirlwell & Ensemble with special guests. The after-party, hosted by Nicolas Jaar, will include a DJ set by Veronica Vasicka as well as performances by Retrovirus along with Lydia Lunch.

American Contemporary Music Ensemble Performs The Music Of Johann Johannsson As Part Of Le Poisson Rouge's 10th Season

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 9:30pm (doors 9pm), the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), will perform the music of the late Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker St., NYC) as part of the venue's 10th anniversary celebration, LPR X. The concert will include selections from Johannsson's first concert in New York, which took place in 2009 at Le Poisson Rouge, with ACME. ACME artistic director Clarice Jensen will also perform bc for solo cello and tape loops, a piece that she co-composed with Johannsson last year, which is included on her 2018 debut solo album For this from that will be filled (Miasmah).
