Spike Lee Will Appear In Conversation With The Times's Charles Blow at TimesTalks

TimesTalks, The New York Times live conversation and performance series, is proud to host a conversation between award-winning director, producer and writer Spike Lee in conversation with The New York Times Op-Ed columnist Charles Blow on August 7.

The duo will discuss Lee's new film "BlacKkKlansman," which won the Grand Prix at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The film follows an improbable early-'70s case in which black police detective Ron Stallworth applied to, and was ultimately granted membership in, the Ku Klux Klan. The two will discuss the political and cultural relevance of the film, and unpack themes of progress and racism in America.

This TimesTalks event will take place on August 7 at TheTimesCenter and will be live streamed on TimesTalks.com, the TimesTalks YouTube channel and Facebook starting at 7:00PM EST. Select media passes are available. If interested, please contact Ali Rigo (ali@culturalcounsel.com) to discuss coverage opportunities.
