Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) presents the new musical ARLINGTON by Victor Lodato and Polly Pen, directed by Carolyn Cantor (THE GREAT GOD PAN, AFTER THE REVOLUTION). ARLINGTON stars Alexandra Silber(MASTER CLASS on Broadway with Tyne Daly, THE WOMAN IN WHITE) as Sara Jane, a young wife who valiantly tries to remain hopeful while her husband is away at war, despite a growing concern that something is not quite right. This new music-theatre piece is a stirring and powerful work that explores complex questions about history, identity and power as it takes us deeper into the storm stirring beneath Sara Jan's sunny exterior.
Vineyard Theatre's annual Gala, this year celebrating the institution's 30th Anniversary, took place at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street) last night, March 18, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. (cocktails at 6:00pm, dinner at 7:30pm and performance at 8:30pm). Stars of both stage and screen joined the celebration when the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Vineyard Theatre honored Tony Award-winner Linda Lavin at the Off-Broadway company's annual Gala on Monday, March 12 at the Hudson Theater (145 West 44th Street) in Manhattan. Ms. Lavin made her Vineyard Theatre debut earlier this season in the critically acclaimed production of Nicky Silver's play THE LYONS.
