Alan Cumming surprised audiences at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts last week by stepping in for the invited dress rehearsal and one performance of 'Me and the Girls,' a new work written and directed by five-time Tony nominee Douglas Carter Beane.

Rehearsals started yesterday for The Alliance Theatre's production of Ugly Lies the Bone, a beautifully written drama about postwar recovery by Lindsey Ferrentino. Ugly Lies the Bone will run on the Hertz Stage at the Alliance Theatre September 16 - October 9, 2016. Opening night is Wednesday, September 21, 2016. National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, is pleased to co-present the 11th annual MFA Playwright's Workshop (MFAPW) in association with the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and Stanford University's National Center for New Plays.

Tickets are on sale today for all the productions in the 2016/17 season for the Alliance Stage, Hertz Stage, Theatre for Youth and Families, and the Kathy and Ken Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young series.  The 48th season includes seven world premieres, five musicals, five productions by Atlanta playwrights, and exceptional productions for youth and families. 

Actor's Express closes its 2015-2016 season with the romantic comedy SIGNIFICANT OTHER by Joshua Harmon, running May 21 - June 19. The Express run of SIGNIFICANT OTHER is currently the only sanctioned production in the country aside from the play's acclaimed world premiere at Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City last summer.
