A reading of the Broadway-bound new musical 54: The Musical will be presented March 30 at TADA Theatre in Manhattan. Emerging Artists Theatre presents this reading as part of its New Work Festival. The musical features a score of disco hits and cult classics from the golden age of Studio 54. 54: The Musical was conceived and written by Renee Bang Allen.

With the 2014 Winter Olympics only weeks away, a cast of former Olympians is teaming up with Broadway Star N'kenge from the musical ' Motown' for the annual Sing & Skate Against Breat Cancer at Bank of America Winter Village on January 18 to benefit the Jacobi Medical Center Auxiliary. Last year the event raised over $10,000 and co-lead to the creation of Jacobi's support SHARE.

FIRST DATE, which opened on August 8, 2013 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre, plays its final performance today, Sunday, January 5, 2014, at 3pm, having played 34 previews and 174 regular performances. First Date, starring Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez, began performances on Broadway on July 9, 2013, and has a book by Austin Winsberg, music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, direction by Bill Berry, musical staging by Josh Rhodes, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, and musical supervision, vocal and incidental arrangements by Dominick Amendum.

The Drama League opened it doors at their new space on May 23rd with a ribbon cutting hosted by Judith Light. The focal point of The DramaLeague Theater Center is the Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley Studio Lab, a brand-new laboratory/development space for theater artists to create and hone work for future productions. It will also act as a flexible multi-purpose space for a variety of programming including educational opportunities, audience-focused series and special events. This will allow the Drama League to better serve the entire New York theater community - directors, audience, playwrights and actors. The Drama League Theater Center will offer artist residencies, play readings, open rehearsals, developmental workshops, lectures, classes, seminars, discussions, conferences, theatre-focused social gatherings and more.

Just yesterday, Kids' Night on Broadway kicks off at the immersive and educational Discovery Times Square; where there were unique theatre activities including: Autograph Alley with Broadway performers, a dance workshop with Revolucion Latina, Broadway Karaoke, stage makeup demonstrations, craft activities and much more including a free theatre activity guide. The Broadway Green Alliance also collected plastic bottle caps (plastic and metal) to incorporate in to the set for the new production of Peter and the Starcatcher Off-Broadway.
