A reading of the Broadway-bound new musical 54: The Musical will be presented March 30 at TADA Theatre in Manhattan. Emerging Artists Theatre presents this reading as part of its New Work Festival. The musical features a score of disco hits and cult classics from the golden age of Studio 54. 54: The Musical was conceived and written by Renée Bang Allen.

Directed by Jonathan Warman with choreography by Mark Stuart and musical direction by Michael Greco, the reading will feature N'Kenge (Mary Wells in Broadway's Motown), as well the talents of James Jackson Jr., Renée Bang Allen, DJ Bucciarelli, Thay Floyd, Andrew Baldwin, Lexi Rhoades, Andromeda Turre, Gavyn Pickens, James Michael Reilly, Xander Chauncey and Stephane Duret. A vibrantly colorful yet gritty love story set in the New York funk and disco scene of the 1970s, 54, The Musical takes you past the velvet ropes to become part of the glitter-soaked excitement. Follow two interracial couples navigating drugs, sexual liberties, changing musical paradigms and death, all within the walls of the most notorious discotheque of all time, Studio 54.

54: The Musical, plays one night only on Sunday March 30 at 7pm at TADA! Theater located at 15 W 28th St Btw. Broadway & 5th Ave. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/595799. For more information, see www.54themusical.com.
