City Theatre is adding a musical CityEvent to the fall production calendar. Benjamin Scheuer, writer and star of the hit show The Lion, returns to Pittsburgh for a series of concerts with his band, featuring drummer Brian Wolfe of Sufjan Stevens and bass player Geoff Kraly of paris_monster.
City Theatre Presents EQT YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL 2016

City Theatre is thrilled to again showcase original works by emerging young artists in the EQT Young Playwrights Festival 2016. Under the direction of City Theatre Artistic Producer Reginald L. Douglas, the festival features six professionally-produced world premiere plays written by local middle and high school students. Student matinee performances run November 30-December 9 with public performances December 3-4 in the Lester Hamburg Studio. In partnership with the theater departments at University of Pittsburgh, Seton Hill University, and Point Park University, a reading of three Honorable Mention plays will take place on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m.

Hilary Bettis & Sheila Callaghan World Premieres Set for New Georges' 25th Anniversary Season

In its 25-year history, New Georges has brought forth an unprecedented generation of women playwrights and directors, providing them with steady artistic support and first or career-transforming productions in New York City. New Georges will celebrate its anniversary season with the World Premiere of Hilary Bettis' Alligator, directed by Elena Araoz, presented in collaboration with The Sol Project this fall, and of Sheila Callaghan and Daniella Topol's collaboratively-created Water at 3LD Art & Technology Center in June of 2017 as part of Water City, a multi-disciplinary art event.

Nashville's Actors Bridge Ensemble is pleased to announce open call auditions for their 21st professional theatre season. Auditions will be held Sunday, June 26, at the Actors Bridge Studio at Darkhorse Theatre by appointment. In salute of its 20th year celebrating theatre, the word, and the actor in Orlando, Mad Cow Theatre has announced its 2016-2017 season of plays, musicals, and special events. The Mad Cow Theatre complex houses two theatres: the 165-seat Harriett Theatre and the 70-seat Zehngebot-Stonerock Theatre.

Over the last several years much attention has been drawn to the abduction of children and, in rare cases, their return. A short time ago, the Cleveland area had the spotlight placed on it when three young ladies, Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, were freed after their many years of captivity in the Tremont home of Ariel Castro. This event makes one of the basic tenets of MR. WOLF, now on stage at Cleveland Play House's Outcalt Theatre, quite inciting to local audiences.
