Joyah Love Spangler will be joining the cast of The Office! A Musical Parody, the unauthorized send-up of the hit TV series playing in the Jerry Orbach Theatre at The Theater Center. Ms. Spangler will be taking on the role that spoofs iconic TV boss, Michael Scott, replacing Sarah Mackenzie Baron who originated the role in the New York production. Her first performance will be on Thursday, March 12, 2020. The show's creators, Bob & Tobly McSmith implemented the gender-reversed casting decision in a bid to make the character's off-color humor and misogynistic language palatable in the #MeToo era - and it's worked quite well. The production continues to break Theater Center box office records and fans are posting all over social media - rejoicing that they still have a chance to see their favorite characters skewered in this spoof that Mashable calls a?oea boisterous, rejuvenating escape from reality that'll fill the void in your heart.a??

The Roxy Regional Theatre's production of THE FANTASTICKS, originally scheduled to open Valentine's night, has been postponed until the following week, due to illness. The show's lead actress recently tested positive for the flu, and the extra time needed for her rest and recovery has made it impossible to get in enough rehearsal time to be ready for the original opening.

The Off-Broadway League today announced that between December 11th and December 16th, it will partner with the Osborne Association a?" donating toys to children whose parents are incarcerated or in conflict with the law. The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the fifteenth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Angela Sclafani & Benjamin Velez. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Kate Baldwin on Monday, December 2nd from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

Right Angle Entertainment, producer of the smash hits The Office! A Musical Parody and Friends! The Musical Parody, will begin previews of its latest parody - Love Actually? The Unauthorized Musical Parody, tonight. The production is a holiday season sendup of the iconic romantic comedy and Christmas movie Love Actually. The Board of Governors of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences New York Chapter announced this week the induction of eleven individuals into its Gold and Silver Circles, including two women theater journalists: Susan Haskins-Doloff, executive producer, co-creator, and co-host of the long-running television series 'Theater Talk' and Roma Torre, theater critic and news anchor of Spectrum News NY1. Both have been awarded entry into the organization's Silver Circle in recognition of 25 years of distinguished contribution to New York television.
