My Bedroom is an Installation to be presented at Imago Theatre, October 6 to 22, 2023.

TFANA and Saint Flashlight present The Will of the City, poems inspired by playwright and poet William Shakespeare, launching today and running through the fall. Spotlighting the work of over a dozen writers, this activation will transform the streetside and outdoor screens at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn, NY)—Theatre for a New Audience's home in Fort Greene—into a bi-weekly updated anthology of poems inspired by Shakespeare's plays.

Imago Theatre and KBOO Community Radio have announced a multi-production radio theater series for 2021. First up is The Strange Case of Nick M. by Drew Pisarra, premiering on May 3 at 10PM on KBOO. Audiences can tune in on 90.7fm in Portland, 91.9fm in Hood River, 104.3fm in Corvallis, and online.

Portland Opera will present Philip Glass's In the Penal Colony for the first time, beginning July 26, 2019. In this piece, a visitor is invited to a penal colony to observe the execution of a prisoner at the hands of a nightmarish machine. The colony's officer extols the virtues of the apparatus, which tortures as it kills, in this piece that The New York Times calls a 'surreal exploration of injustice.' As the future of the institution is questioned, the visitor considers the consequences of meddling, and the officer grows more desperate to preserve the system.

A reunion at the almost legendary club, The Talk House. Still presided over by the kindly Nellie, there's the same genteel atmosphere, the familiar drinks and the special snacks. The playwright, the composer, the actress. The former television star brutally beaten up. The possibility of a pleasant evening.

Portland Opera is pleased to announce programming for the company's 55th season, scheduled to begin in November 2018. The season will launch with the recently announced "November classic" - Verdi's heartbreaking romance La Traviata - bringing opera back to Portland in the fall months. In March, Portland Opera will present Laura Kaminsky's brave and beautiful coming-of-age story, As One, where two voices, a mezzo-soprano and a baritone, share the role of the transgender heroine Hannah. The season will continue in the spring with the company's annual Big Night concert and a bright and vibrant production of Rossini's great Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In July, the company will present Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera for the first time, followed by the company premiere of Philip Glass's exploration of the nature of justice, In the Penal Colony, based on Franz Kafka's short story.

LA BELLE: LOST IN THE WORLD OF THE AUTOMATON can hardly be called a play. It is a play, but also so much more - it's also a musical, a puppet show, a clown act, a dance performance, a visual art installation, and an automated wonder.

Carol Triffle and Jerry Mouawad, Artistic Directors of Imago Theatre, each bring to the stage their own original work in May and June. To Fly Again is written, choreographed and directed by Jerry Mouawad and plays May 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12, Fri/Sat at 7:30, Sun at 2:00.  Fallout is written and directed by Carol Triffle and plays June 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9, Fri/Sat at 7:30, Sunday at 2:00. While distinctly different, each play taps into a world removed from the ordinary.

Ms. Gallagher will read from her poetry after which Imago will present HUMAN NOISE, three short stories and one poem staged by Imago's Jerry Mouawad. After the production Ms Gallagher will chat in an informal talk-back with the audience.

The stories include "Gazebo," "A Serious Talk," "Neighbors," and the poem "Torture." All the pieces explore the intimate and sometimes unusual struggles and passions of male female relationships. Carver's precise and explosively simple narratives expose veins of Northwest Americans. He was born in Clatskanie, Oregon and spent most of his time on the west coast. Two of the three stories in HUMAN NOISE first appeared in print in 1980, while the earliest, "Neighbors," was published in 1971.
