Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS and Jerry Mitchell announce BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS, a new event featuring seven of the hottest men currently on and off Broadway. BROADWAY BARES: SOLO STRIPS will be held Sunday, January 31 at Splash (50 West 17th Street). There will be performances at 8 PM and 11 PM and a $10 admission will be accepted at the door.

Last night, Wednesday 13 January 2010, Legally Blonde The Musical opened at the Savoy Theatre in London. Sheridan Smith, Duncan James, Jill Halfpenny, Peter Davison, Aoife Mulholland, Susan McFadden and Alex Gaumond lead the cast in Legally Blonde The Musical which is currently booking until 23 May 2010. Fanny, running February 4 - 7, has music and lyrics by Harold Rome and book by S.N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, and is based on Marcel Pagnol's trilogy Marius, Fanny and Cesar. Fanny will be directed by Mark Bruni and choreographed by Lorin Latarro with music direction by Rob Berman.

Choreographer Jerry Mitchell has an array of nominations and awards under his belt for his choreography and directing work on the Broadway and West End stages. During the past decade, Mitchell has worked on nine Broadway shows: Six of these shows went on to become long-running hits, and six have garnered him a Tony nomination for best choreographer; his work on 'La Cage aux Folles' earned him a Tony Award in 2005.

Sheridan Smith may be best known to TV audiences in the role of Janet Keogh in the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, but it's her most recent outing - as stage star of the musical Legally Blonde - that is causing a stir in the West End. So much in fact that producers of the show have hired six extra security guards, built and extra stage door and put up rope barriers, reports the Times Online.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Legally Blonde is poised to be this season's monster hit in the West End, 'reporting £2million advance ticket sales and a 'Beatlemania'-like atmosphere' at the Savoy Theatre, where the production is currently in previews.

The Toronto Star is reporting that Catch Me if You Can, the highly anticipated new Terrence McNally/Marc Shaiman musical, may be having it's out of town try out in Toronto before heading to Broadway.
