Full casting is announced for the new London production of the acclaimed Broadway musical Grand Hotel, produced by Danielle Tarento and directed by Thom Southerland, the award-winning team behind Titanic, Parade and Mack & Mabel.

Other members of MAME production team include: Michael Raabe (Musical Director), David M. Kovach (Costumes), Mike Wood (Lighting) Susan Haldeman (Wigs) and Greg Bierce (Sets).

Neglected Musicals will present DEAR WORLD, at Hayes Theatre Co on Monday, 3 August.  Directed by Nicholas Hammond, the 1969 Broadway Musical, DEAR WORLD is a clash of good and evil where the forces of idealism, love and poetry win over those of greed, materialism and science.

THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARDS (NHSMTA)/JIMMY AWARDS just announced that 52 high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress at the seventh annual awards ceremony. The presentation will take place on Monday, June 29th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. The Broadway at Birdland Concert Series is proud to announce that Stephen Cole and David Evans musical fable, Merman's Apprentice, will appear at the historic Birdland stage for a sold-out performance tonight, June 15 at 7pm. Directed by Igor Goldin (Yank) the cast features (in alphabetical order) P.J. Benjamin, Klea Blackhurst, Anita Gillette, Bill Nolte, and Elizabeth Teeter supported by a six-piece band with orchestrations by Lynn Shankel.

The best of times is now at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre when La Cage aux Folles hits the outdoor stage for a two weekend run. Set to open on Friday, June 19, performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm through June 28.

Countess Aurelie and her fellow madwomen are back to save Chaillot, Paris and the world in a stylishly realized theatrical tour-de-force. As directed by Christopher Henley, WSC Avant Bard's THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT is a feast for the eyes and ears. The production, in an exciting and vibrant translation by Laurence Senelick, also feeds the soul as a reminder of how precious our fragile earth really is and how important it is for someone, anyone, to take a stand to protect it. This MADWOMAN is also brilliantly acted from the members of the quirky ensemble to the queen bee herself, Countess Aurelie, effortlessly brought to life by Avant Bard company member Cam Magee.

Acclaimed musical director and performer Ben Stock has recently released his debut album, featuring musical numbers that have shaped his career thus far. Jerry Herman, Cole Porter, Noel Coward and Meredith Wilson are just a few of the composers whose work is celebrated on this CD. The order of songs tell a wonderful story and are delivered by one very talented man and his piano.

Tony Award winner, Theater Hall of Fame member and legendary Broadway star Betty Buckley returns to Denver June 15-19 for the fourth consecutive year to teach her Song Interpretation & Monologue Workshop.

Happy Birthday, Robert Preston! best remembered for his performance as 'Professor' Harold Hill in Meredith Willson's musical The Music Man (1962). He had already won a Tony Award for his performance in the original Broadway production, in 1957. In 1965 he was the male part of a duo-lead musical, I Do! I Do! with Mary Martin, for which he won his second Tony Award. He played the title role in the musical Ben Franklin in Paris and originated the role of Henry II in the original production of The Lion in Winter. In 1974 he starred alongside Bernadette Peters in Jerry Herman's Broadway musical Mack & Mabel as Mack Sennett, the famous silent film director. That same year (1974) the film version of Mame, another famed Jerry Herman musical, was released with Preston starring, alongside Lucille Ball, in the role of Beauregard Burnside.

Tonight, June 6th, designer and director Tony Walton will receive The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre at Goodspeed Musicals' Gala event RAZZLE DAZZLE. Julie Andrews will present Walton with the award at the event.

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will begin its summer series at Riverbend Music Center's Corbett Pavilion tonight, June 6 at 8 p.m. with a special 'Broadway Sing-Along' featuring classic Broadway hits and inviting the audience to sing along.

The Morris Museum has announced the lineup for the 2015-2016 season at the Bickford Theatre, featuring two exceptional comedies (including one world premier), and a nail-biting thriller. The season will also include a fall and spring series of special performances.

Eric Comstock and Barbara Fasano are in a really good mood. The infectious buoyancy of their new show at the Metropolitan Room, Shoulder Season (Don't ask me what the title means. Despite explanation, I haven't a clue.), will erase world news, ease arthritis, and make love seem possible again. Well, maybe not all that. Its warm, cheerful, sometimes exuberant musicality is nonetheless recommended for whatever ails you.
