The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season will continue with the return of Flat Rock favorites Jeremy Sevelovitz and Christopher Fordinal, fresh from their successful run of Million Dollar Quartet performing the hits of Buddy Holly. The Music of Buddy Holly will run from August 11th through August 21st at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville.

Flat Rock Playhouse is kicking off its 2016 mainstage season with the international hit musical Million Dollar Quartet - the story of four pioneers of rock 'n' roll and how they came together for one night in what is undoubtedly the most electrifying jam session in all of music history.

The Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet takes place on December 4, 1956 at Sun Records when the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll' Sam Phillips brought together his top four stars - Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and a young and up and coming Elvis Presley - for one night only in his tiny storefront Memphis recording studio. The auspicious occasion resulted in this seminal moment in music history with new recordings of such rock 'n' roll, gospel, R&B and country hits as 'Blue Suede Shoes,' 'Fever,' 'Walk the Line,' 'Sixteen Tons,' 'Who Do You Love?,' 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Folsom Prison Blues,' 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On,' 'Hound Dog' and more. But beyond the electrifying smash hits, Million Dollar Quartet is an irresistible tale of fame, broken promises, betrayals and triumphs that is deeply moving, hilarious and engaging. The Man in Black is proving a powerful draw for Penobscot Theatre Company, warranting a one-week extension of the popular show, created by Richard Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade. Originally scheduled to close September 27,Ring of Fire, The Music of Johnny Cash is now slated to run through October 4, offering patrons five more opportunities to see the theatre's acclaimed season-opener.

Goodspeed Musicals is re-imagining favorite Tin Pan Alley tunes with the new-fashioned musical comedy Hello! My Baby. The show from Goodspeed's 2011 Festival of New Artists will run through 27, 2011 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., Goodspeed's home for developing new works. Goodspeed Musicals, the first two-time Tony Award winning theatre in the country has announced that the cast of Hello! My Baby will be led by Justin Bowen, who will play Mickey McKee, and Stephanie Koenig, who will play Nelly Gold/Ned O'Reilly. Kelly McCormick will play Frances Gold. Junior Tierney will be played by Carrington Vilmont of Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera and Goodspeed's Half a Sixpence. Stanford J. Tierney will be played by Dick Decareau, who appeared in Broadway's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Raggedy Ann and Goodspeed's Li'l Abner and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Beth McVey will play Ethel Coots. Ms. McVey's Broadway credits include Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, Nine, 42nd Street, and Annie. Bert Coots will be played by Frank Root of Broadway's 42nd Street and Mack & Mabel as well as Goodspeed's George M!. Alex Viola will play Violet Gold.
