The new musical Kinky Boots, from four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (book), Grammy Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), Tony Award-winner Jerry Mitchell (Director & Choreographer), began preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) last night , March 3, 2013. Opening night is set for Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Signature Theatre presents THE DANCE AND THE RAILROAD written by David Henry Hwang and directed by May Adrales. The production just opened last night, February 25 and will now play through Sunday, March 24 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Atlantic Theater Company just presented their annual Spring Gala Songs in Celebration of a New Day on last night, February 25, 2013 at 583 Park Avenue. Songs in Celebration of a New Day was an evening of original music celebrating the future of Atlantic Theater Company, newly reinvigorated in its renovated home at the Linda Gross Theater. The Gala featured special appearances by Michael Cerveris, Christine Lahti, Jan Maxwell, Tonya Pinkins and David Pittu, toasting the $8.3M renovation of Atlantic's mainstage theater and the bright future of the award-winning off-Broadway theater company.

On April 22nd, Our Time - a non-profit organization that has been helping children who stutter for over a decade - will hold its 11th Annual Benefit Gala, Worth the Wait, celebrating the bravery and achievements of young people who stutter as well as those who inspire their success. This event comes just one year after the organization honored Offensive Lineman Matt Slauson of the New York Jets, and two years after honoring David Seidler, the Academy Award-winning writer of The King's Speech, whose film changed the landscape for people who stutter around the world. The event has become an annual favorite for a number of celebrities, philanthropists, artists, and social advocates including former NEA Chair and award-winning actress Jane Alexander who has said: "The word has gotten out that this is the best show in town. I go to a lot of galas, but this is the one I always want to go to, bar none."
Earlier today, Cinderella stars Ann Harada and Marla Mindelle unveiled the Cindrella Sundae at Serendipity3 (225 East 60th St). The treat is a life-sized 'glass slipper' made of glittering white chocolate filled with 3 wickedly big scoops of ice cream covered in chocolate and caramel sauce for dreamers and ice creamers of all ages. It's topped off with a delightfully romantic cloud of whipped cream and beautifully colored rock candy that is the finest in all of the kingdom, candy pearls and a life-sized tiara and a Cinderella Mirror Compact complete the royal treatment for the sundae based on the musical that's impossible to resist.

Award-winning stage and screen actress Fiona Shaw will return to the New York stage this spring with The Testament of Mary, by the acclaimed author Colm Toibin, directed by Deborah Warner. The production will begin previews on Tuesday, March 26, and open on Monday, April 22 for a twelve-week limited engagement through Sunday, June 16 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street.) The production will not only mark the New York theatrical debut for the multi-award winning novelist but will also be the first collaboration between Fiona Shaw and Deborah Warner to premiere on this side of the Atlantic.

The box office for the world premiere of Tony Award winning playwright Richard Greenberg's new play, Breakfast at Tiffany's, is officially open for business at the Cort Theatre (138 W 48th Street). Directed by Sean Mathias, Breakfast at Tiffany's begins preview performances on Monday, March 4, 2013 and officially opens on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. This stage adaption of Truman Capote's classic novella will star Emilia Clarke (HBO's 'Game of Thrones') in the iconic role of 'Holly Golightly,' Cory Michael Smith as 'Fred,' and George Wendt as 'Joe Bell.'

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that performances begin tonight for the New York premiere of Belleville, written by Amy Herzog and directed by Anne Kauffman, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Sunday, March 3 at 7pm. Belleville is scheduled to run through Sunday, March 31.
