Howard McGillin Leads Irish Rep's IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Now thru 12/29

Irish Repertory Theatre will continue its current season with a revival of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, The 1946 Live Radio Play, adapted by Anthony E. Palermo from the screenplay by Francis Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra and Jo Swerling. IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, The 1946 Live Radio Play premiered last year at the Irish Repertory Theatre with a production directed by Charlotte Moore (JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK, DANCING AT LUGHNASA). Once again directed by Ms. Moore, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, The 1946 Live Radio Play will begin previews today, December 4th and will play through Sunday, December 29th in The Irish Repertory Theatre's W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). The official press opening is Tuesday, December 10th.

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the ninth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, last night. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Joel Grey at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater. Williamstown Theatre Festival honored Award-winning director and frequent WTF collaborator Scott Ellis, at last night's benefit at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The evening was hosted by Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the Ellis-helmed production of The Little Dog Laughed, and included appearances by Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes and more. Albert Maysles & Michael Korie Join THE MEETING*'s GREY GARDENS Tribute at 54 Below, 11/20

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the acclaimed comedy/variety show hailed as 'rambunctious, uproarious and unpredictable' by The Wall Street Journal, 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post, and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice - has moved to 54 BELOW for a six month run after four sell-out seasons in New York's West Village. The next show will be on Wednesday, November 20 at 9:30 PM. Justin Sayre and The Meeting*, known for a signature blend of outrageous comedy, politics, culture and everything in between, were named one of the Top 10 nightclub shows of 2011 by Time Out New York, received the 2012 Bistro Award for 'Comedy Artistry' and a 2011 MAC Award nomination for Best Male Comedy Performance.

Fred Armisen to Guest on ABC's SUPER FUN NIGHT

According to Entertainment Weekly, Armisen is set to guest star on ABC's Rebel Wilson-led freshman comedy, taking on the role of 'Brian Headfoot, the exasperated head of HR at the law firm where Wilson's Kimmie works. In the episode, his character is called in to broker a truce between feuding Kimmie and Kendall (Kate Jenkinson).'

Stephen DeRosa, Jessica Hendy & More Set for BROADWAY BALLYHOO, 11/20

The Broadway Ballyhoo, now in its sixth month at The Laurie Beechman Theater, will present STEPHEN DeROSA, the multi-talented singer/actor who is currently featured in BETRAYAL and who has starred on Broadway as The Baker in the revival of INTO THE WOODS; he is also well-known for playing Eddie Cantor in EMPIRE BOARDWALK. Also starring this week at the Ballyhoo: JESSICA HENDY who starred on Broadway in CATS, AMOUR, and AIDA. Song and Dance man DANNY GARDNER (Broadway by the Year, Noah Racey's Pulse, and Room 17B) will be on the bill, as will concert and recording artist TEDI MARSH! The next show is Wednesday, November 20th at 10:45 PM.

Featuring songs by some of the top composers and lyricist of the theater, Stars of Davidwas conceived by Aaron Harnick and Abigail Pogrebin and is directed by Gordon Greenberg.
