The Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q celebrated same-sex marriage in the State of New York yesterday, July 24th when two of the show's stars - same-sex puppets Rod and Ricky -- exchanged vows in tandem with their flesh and blood brothers and sisters (and straight couples, too!), who were married on the historic day of same-sex marriage in New York. Original Avenue Q cast member Jennifer Barnhart will play the title role in THE LEGEND OF JULIE TAYMOR, or The Musical That Killed Everybody! which will get its world premiere this August at FringeNYC, playing the Bleecker Theatre. The musical by Travis Ferguson (book & lyrics) and Dave Ogrin (music & lyrics) tells the story of the rise and fall of Director Julie Taymor and the behind-the-scenes scandals of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark which has since become a modern Broadway legend.

The 25th Annual EASTER BONNET COMPETITION raised $3,706,085, the result of six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 52 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced at this year's EASTER BONNET COMPETITION, which ended in two shows featuring original presentations, songs and elaborate, custom-made bonnets from 17 of the participating shows. Arden Theatre Company continues its 2010/11 season with Superior Donuts by Tracy Letts, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning playwright of August: Osage County. It will be directed by the Arden's Associate Artistic Director Edward Sobel and closes April 3, 2011.

'At This Performance,' the ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway standbys and understudies is set to continue March 20-21.

The Actors Fund announced the complete roster of performers for the 16th annual 'Nothing Like A Dame: A Party for Comden and Green.' The all-star concert, presented each year as a benefit for the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, set for Monday, November 1, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Laura Pels Theater (111 W. 46th St.).

The Theatre World Awards presentation were held at New World Stages, 340 West 50th Street, in an invitation-only ceremony, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Peter Filichia hosted, Barry Keating directed, and Mary K. Botosan, Kati Meister, and Erin Oestreich were the event's producers. John Willis, a founder of the Theatre World Awards, was in attendance.

Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 11, the annual holiday CD benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), goes on sale Saturday. The CDs are sold at participating Broadway and off-Broadway shows in New York during a six-week 'Gypsy-of-the-Year' fundraising period which runs this year from October 24th through December 8th.
