Lukas McFarlane is a very diversely talented dancer and choreographer. On St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2019 at The Montalban Theatre, MacFarlane and Company presented a dazzling display of artistry and expression, as part of MOVES, a three-day Dance Festival held at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood. https://www.themontalban.com
The MOVES performances included FUZE, Presented by Nick Young and Rhythmatic, March 15, which unfortunately I did not get to see. I am hoping to catch them sometime soon, as tap is my first love in dance; Entity Contemporary Dance, on March 16, who's Review I have already posted on Broadway World; and the piece de resistance, Lukas McFarlane's Epic Astoria.
Everything old is new again. But who would think the new century would have 19th Century literature resurfacing in the form of theatrical plays. This season Buffalo has seen Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice' characters in the new play MISS BENNETT: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY at Shea's 710 Theatre. But a good story is a good story. So in re-examining the age old hunt for an eligible bachelor we now bring to the stage Austen's SENSE & SENSIBILITY, that notable work that explores the issues of class, courting, and attaining the perfect husband. With some updating of the era and costumes, this timeless tale could allow Austen's often melodramatic story to play out as a 2019 romantic comedy feature film.
As Second Generation Theatre prepares for their return to full productions at the Shea's Smith Theatre for the 2018-2019 season, they invite you to join them to commemorate the company's first five seasons. "We are proud to welcome our patrons to the Shea's Smith Theatre for the 2018-2019 season and beyond," says Artistic Director Kelly Copps. Located in the heart of the Buffalo Theatre District, the Smith offers flexible seating of up to 200 patrons and a blank slate for the company's signature style of performance.

From the opening piano riff, a driving and intense, yet somehow melodic, progression, the Irish Classical Theatre Company's production of Next to Normal is arresting, poignant, and emotionally charged.
