The BAFTA Tea Party was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on January 5, 2019. The event was presented by American Airlines, BBC America and Jaguar Land Rover.

According to Collider, the nominations have been announced for the 2019 Dorian Awards. The awards celebrate the best and brightest in film, TV, artistic accomplishment of the year.

The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival kicked off on January 3rd with “Talking Pictures” screenings of award contenders If Beale Street Could Talk, Roma, and Bohemian Rhapsody. Regina King and director Barry Jenkins attended participated in a Q&A for If Beale Street Could Talk with the festival's Artistic Director Michael Lerman. Alfonso Cuaron was joined by stars Marina De Tavira and Yalitza Aparicio for the screening of Roma and all three participated in a Q&A with the festival's Director of Programming Lili Rodriguez. Rami Malek attended and participated in a Q&A for Bohemian Rhapsody with Deadline's Pete Hammond.

Actor's Express presents An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Directed by Donya K. Washington, Associate Producer at the Alliance Theatre, this wildly imaginative new work turns a 19th century melodrama on its ear in a riotous romp that hurls the antebellum south into direct collision with 21st century cultural politics. "Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is one of the most exciting playwrights writing for the American theatre today. This play uses crazy theatricality to cast a critical eye on the modern world through the lens of the past," says Artistic Director Freddie Ashley.

Director Patty Jenkins' ( Wonder Woman,  Monster) highly anticipated limited suspense drama, I Am the Night, starring Chris Pine (Wonder Woman,  Star Trek). I Am the Night premieres  Monday, January 28, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on TNT .

DCINY's Maestro Jonathan Griffith leads the Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and Distinguished Concerts Singers International in a celebration of Sir Karl Jenkins' 75th birthday. The concert, features the US premiere of Jenkins' Symphonic Adiemus, a re-orchestration of his acclaimed work Adiemus.  Also presented will be Stabat Mater.  Twenty choirs from around the world will participate in the performance with Iraqi singer Baidar Al Basri as the featured soloist.

NBC Sports Radio, in conjunction with Westwood One, today is launching “The Daily Line,” a new, weekday afternoon drive show, which will focus on the increasingly popular topic of sports betting while also featuring topical and entertaining sports talk. DISNEY'S NEWSIES opens at Artisan Center Theater on Friday, January 4, 2019 and runs through Saturday, February 9, 2019. The 196 seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays beginning January 12. The first production from Leicester's newly re-opened Haymarket Theatre will be the world premiere of Treasure Island, penned by national treasure and established author Sandi Toksvig (The Great British Bake Off, QI).

TNT and Cadence13, a leading podcast media company, today announced a ground-breaking eight-part podcast documentary series, Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia, a companion to TNT's six-episode suspense drama I Am the Night. The podcast series will premiere Wednesday, February 13 and joins Turner Podcast Network's portfolio of podcasts available on Apple Podcasts and many other podcast platforms.
