Gallery Players Presents THE 13TH ANNUAL BLACK BOX NEW PLAY FESTIVAL 6/3

The Gallery Players proudly announces its line up for The 13th Annual Black Box New Play Festival. The festival boasts the world premieres of 19 new plays, opening in Brooklyn Thursday, June 3rd with a new adaptation of CANDIDE, by TJ Edwards (The Pearl Theatre Company), directed by The Gallery Players' Executive Director Neal J. Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. Jeffry Denman Stars In Buffalo Philharmonic's MUSIC MAN 5/29

Jeffry Denman who starred in the original Broadway production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and most recently co-starred and choreographed the Off Broadway hit YANK! at the York Theatre will be playing the role of Harold Hill in a concert version of Meredith Willson's The Music Man on May 29th with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Gallery Players marks the final show of its 43rd main stage season in Black and White and Technicolor with the first NYC revival of the six-time Tony Award winner, City of Angels. Directed by Trey Compton (Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge, The Gallery Players), City of Angels will end its run May 23, 2010.

The Town Hall's critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year's®10th Anniversary Season presented The Broadway Musicals of 1966, a year that brought us iconic shows such as, Cabaret, Mame, I Do! I Do!, Sweet Charity and The Apple Tree, last night, May 10. Overflowing with famous songs from major hit shows, the evening featured more dance numbers than any other Town Hall Broadway by the Year® concert this season. The evening was directed, choreographed and starred Jeffry Denman (who will be going to Broadway next season with this year's Off-Broadway hit musical, Yank!, which he also choreographed).
