SOUL TRAIN will feature a trailblazing creative team with 2019 Tony Award Nominated and MacArthur Genius Grant-winning playwright Dominique Morisseau (Ain't Too Proud, The Detroit Project), the Apollo Theater's Kamilah Forbes (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark; The Mountaintop, Assoc.) as director, and 2019 Tony Award Nominee Camille A. Brown (Choir Boy, Emmy-winning Jesus Christ Superstar on NBC; Tony-winning revival of Once on This Island) as choreographer. The production is planning a Broadway premiere in 2021 in celebration of the landmark series' 50th Anniversary.

It's official! Second Stage Theatre has added a Broadway theatre to its lineup of venues.

After last week's news that Second Stage Theater had filed for an extension to close on Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre, The New York Times writes that judge Joan M. Kenney of New York State Supreme Court has urged both parties in the purchase deal -- now at a standstill -- to settle out of court.

The New York Times writes that Second Stage Theater Artistic Director Carole Rothman has filed for a 90-day extension to close on Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre, after her company failed to raise the $25 million in time to finalize the venue's purchase.

The five-time Tony Award-nominated Rock of Ages played its final performance last night, January 18, 2015 after 22 preview and 2,328 Broadway performances, solidifying its spot as the 27th longest running show in Broadway history. Yesterday, May 24, Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein hosted a special Birthday party on to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Little / Helen Hayes Theatre, which opened on March 12, 1912 with John Galsworthy's play The Pigeon. The theatre is currently home to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages. A private centennial celebration at the theatre is confirmed for Thursday, May 24, 2012.
