TRTC Presents World Premiere of ORESTES, A TRAGIC ROMP, 3/23-4/11

Following a highly successful run at the Folger Theatre in Washington D.C., Two River Theater Co. is proud to present the world premiere of Orestes A Tragic Romp, Anne Washburn's razor sharp modern adaptation of the Greek tragedy by Euripides, directed by Two River Artistic Director Aaron Posner.

Alley Theatre Announces Casting and Creative Team for Thornton Wilder’s OUR TOWN

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Thornton Wilder's Our Town follows the courtship and marriage of George and Emily, and in following the two, reveals the hidden mystery behind the everyday. Wilder's portrait of life, love and death is set in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, a fictional New England town at the start of the 20th century. With a penetrating wisdom about living in community, this play is an enduring American treasure and one of the greatest plays of world theatre. Recommended for general audiences. Our Town, by Thornton Wilder and directed by Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd, begins performances Friday, October 2 and runs through Sunday, November 1 on the Hubbard Stage.

Author of the Alley's outstanding success The Clean House, Sarah Ruhl creates a tale based on the Greek myth of Orpheus that is 'exhilarating' as 'we enter a surreal world, as lush and limpid as a dream' (The New Yorker). On the day Eurydice is to marry her true love Orpheus, a misstep sends her to the surreal depths of the Underworld, where she has a surprising reunion and ultimately must decide whether to follow Orpheus back to the land of the living. The New York Times described Eurydice as 'a magical play with gripping emotional potency...a love letter to the world...'
