Technically, the silver lining of the black hole trash compactor featured in Black Hole Wedding is that whatever it doesn't suck in, it stretches out: a golf club, clothing, even a pom-pom shaking marketing director. Theatrically, this 'spaghettify' strategy also works well for the show itself, a campy eco-political satire with more than enough humorous and heartfelt songs and sight gags to keep its musical magnetic attraction strong for 100 minutes.

Producers of Black Hole Wedding,which will make its off Broadway debut as part of the 2019 New York Musical Festival's Next Link Project, announced today that all proceeds from the sale of tickets for the engagement will be donated to renewable energy nonprofit organizations350.org and GRID Alternatives. In addition, a group of anonymous angel donors has agreed to match all funds raised by the production.

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) commenced day one of the annual event yesterday with a welcome luncheon held by Cadillac, a red carpet reception hosted by Sony, and a screening of the new adaptation of the 1972 classic film, Superfly. Many celebrities were in attendance including Rick Ross and Big Boi, who have roles in the film, and Future who produced the soundtrack that dropped last week.

The 22nd annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) returns to Miami from June 13-17, 2018 and continues to showcase quality film and television content by and about people of African descent. ABFF founder Jeff Friday, created the festival in 1997 as a means to channel diverse talent directly into Hollywood, inspired by the belief that Black artists and content creators deserve the same opportunities as their mainstream counterparts. HBO is the founding sponsor of the festival.
