Noted American conductor and MCS Music Director Jason Tramm will begin the Morris Choral Society's 45th Season Finale with the exquisite music of Gabriel Faure's Requiem in d minor, Op. 48 in a concert entitled “Rebirth and Renewal: A Celebration of Spring” Saturday May 12th at 8PM at the historic Methodist Church on the Green in Morristown, New Jersey. The concert program will continue with works by noted contemporary composers Ola Gjeilo, Gwyneth Walker, Dan Forrest and Morten Lauridsen, as well as renown 20th century composers Samuel Barber and Randall Thompson.
In a dramatic turn of events, three outstanding young musicians were selected in the Adelphi Orchestra's 2018 Young Artist Competition from a field of 62 worthy contestants, and 17 remarkable finalists who included Sanford Whatley (Violin), Keila Wakao (Violin), Jisu Choi (Violin), Elizabeth Lee (Violin), Laura Navasardian (Cello), Bryan Cheng (Cello), Eliana Silverman (Violin), Angela Dong (Violin) Sofia Gilchenok (Viola), Kenneth Ryu Naito (Violin), Jiabao Wei (Violin), Charles Zandieh (Cello), Jun Lin (Violin), Sophia Stoyanovich (Violin), Randall Mitsuo Goosby (Violin), Phoebe Gardner (Violin) and Jason Moon (Violin).
The Adelphi Orchestra, upcoming Mother's Day Weekend Concert taking place in NYC on May 13th in NYC's historic Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian Church will benefit the AO's Fifteenth Annual Young Artist Programming. The collective ensemble of musicians and singers from the greater New York/New Jersey metro area, who will include Julianna Milin, soprano and baritone Hyung Joo Eom, have gathered to perform this concert as volunteers in support of Vocal Productions New York City's artistic mission and its founder, the critically acclaimed opera singer Valentin Peytchinov.
