Lyric Music Theater, 176 Sawyer Street, South Portland will be presenting four musicals and a classic play in their 2018-2019 season. All five shows are being performed on the Lyric stage for the first time and include family friendly classics, romantic drama, uproarious comedy, murder and mystery, and an epic, classic tale, something for everyone.

The musical opens on Friday, September 7 at 8pm, with additional shows on September 8, 13-15 at 8pm and a matinee on September 9 at 2pm. Casting is now complete for the foot-stompin' musical Honky Tonk Angels. This performance, playing from September 19 - September 30, will be directed by DAVID HEMSLEY CALDWELL, returning to the Lyceum for his 20th production, and musically directed by SAM CLEIN. The production features SHARON MALANE as Darlene, ERIN MCCRACKEN as Angela, and SHELBY RINGDAHL as Sue Ellen.

Husband-and-wife duo John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey make their annual fall pilgrimage to Cafe Carlyle with an all-new show, American Stories, November 6-17. The New York Times recently described John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey as "the supreme nightclub act of our time." A world-renowned guitarist and singer, John Pizzarelli has been entertaining audiences for over 20 years and has established himself as one of the prime contemporary interpreters of the Great American Songbook. Jessica Molaskey is a veteran of a dozen Broadway shows including the revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George, which was nominated for nine Tony Awards. Two River Theater opens their 20182019 season with the world premiere of 'Pamela's First Musical.' The show will be on the Red Bank stage from 98 to 1017. Broadwayworld.com interviewed Andrea Burns about her career and her role as Mary Ethel Bernadette in the production.
