Seattle Shakespeare to Kick Off New Year with RICHARD II, 1/8-2/2

With recent airings on PBS via the BBC's "Hollow Crown" series and a screening of the RSC production with David Tenant, the Puget Sound region has seen a mini-renaissance of Shakespeare's Richard II. Seattle Shakespeare Company starts the New Year with its own production of Richard II directed by Rosa Joshi. Artistic Director George Mount will play the title role in a cast that features 16 actors.

The Footlight Players, South Carolina's longest-producing theatre company, is proud to bring this musical interpretation of A Christmas Carol to the region for the first time with a talented cast, crew, and a score to knock your socks off in tow. A Christmas Carol tells Charles Dickens' timeless tale adapted by Bobby Cronin with original music, lyrics, and vocal arrangements by Angelyn Benson and Bobby Cronin. The story comes alive on stage December 6, 7, 12-14, and 19-21 at 8:00pm as well as December 8, 15, and 22 at 3:00pm.

Randy Weiner's newest genre-crossing, environmental experience, Queen of the Night, which begins on December 31, 2013, has announced casting for its six week run at legendary supper club, Diamond Horseshoe. The premier offering of the newly reopening supper club, Queen of the Night features a cast of thirty-three multi-genre performers from the world of circus, modern dance, theater, nightlife, and magic.

Daniel Sloss, Scotland's half-man-half-Xbox, hormone-ridden, comic prodigy, is currently one of the fastest rising stars of UK comedy. He started doing stand-up at the young age of 16. Daniel appeared on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, 8/10 Cats, Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks, The Rob Brydon Show, and Comic Relief's Mock the Week, as well as stared in his own BBC TV movie The Adventures of Daniel all before he could shave.

The White Cashmere Collection 10th Anniversary fashion show took place last week, featuring a stunning vision of a future without breast cancer. The show featured a cast of 20 new and returning designers featuring their creations - made entirely out of 100 per cent pure, soft Cashmere Bathroom Tissue. The show is celebrating it's tenth year, and the foundation works tirelessly to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. BWW was thrilled to be on hand to capture photos of the stunning dresses (you won't believe it's toilet paper!) and provide coverage of this awesome event leading into October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Lua Hadar to Bring Jazz Ensemble Twist to Yoshi's Oakland, 9/30

Fresh from a success in Paris, Lua Hadar brings her cosmopolitan jazz ensemble Twist back to Yoshi's Oakland to celebrate the Official Release of their DVD, Like A Bridge. A 70-minute Live Studio Concert directed by Emmy award-winner Lawrence Jordan, Like a Bridge was shot at the legendary Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, and was nominated in the Long Form Video Category by the Independent Music Awards. On September 30, clips from the DVD will be shown on Yoshi's new screen as the band rolls out some fresh new tunes live on stage. Music Director Jason Martineau on piano, Dan Feiszli on bass, Celso Alberti on drums, Ian Dogole on Global Percussion, Larry De La Cruz on reeds, and Hadar on vocals in seven languages.
