Miami New Drama announced the return of the world premiere production  A Wonderful World, a new musical based on the life and songs of jazz legend and American icon Louis Armstrong. Originally scheduled for the spring of 2020, the production will now play at the Colony Theatre from December 4 - January 16, with opening night set for December 11.

Acclaimed singer and songwriter Josh Ritter's new album, Fever Breaks, debuts at #4 on Billboard's Americana/Folk Albums Chart, #5 on Independent Albums Chart, #14 on Top Current Albums Chart and appears on the Billboard 200. Produced by Grammy Award-winning musician Jason Isbell, the 10-track album was recorded at Nashville's historic RCA Studio A and features Isbell's band, the 400 Unit.

Earlier today, Actors' Equity Association presented Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed with the tenth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. Presented by Equity's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) the ACCA Award is the only industry accolade of its kind to honor the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

The 2016 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards gala was held just last night, May 16, to honor outstanding dance and choreography on Broadway, off-Broadway, and in film, at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place). Tonight, May 17, New York Drama Critics' Circle honors its 2015-2016 Best Play and Best Musical: Stephen Karam's THE HUMANS and George C. Wolfe, Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle's SHUFFLE ALONG, OR THE MAKING OF THE MUSICAL SENSATION OF 1921 AND ALL THAT FOLLOWED.

A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opened on April 28 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
