Monheit Presents Sneak-Peek of 'Home' At Cabaret at Columbia Club 9/16

International Jazz diva Jane Monheit will present a sneak-preview performance of music from her new CD 'Home,' a passionate ode to the golden age of the jazz standard, at her shows on Thursday, September 16th at 7:30PM and 9:30PM. The shows will be at the Cabaret at the Columbia Club (121 Monument Circle). Tickets are $65 for general seating, $75 for priority seating, and $100 for VIP seating which includes a pre-released copy of 'Home.' The John Marshall Quintet featuring Grant Stewart will fill Abingdon Theatre with the sound of Jazz on Sunday, August 8 at 7:00pm and 9:00pm for this one evening benefit special performance. Having learned his craft, with help from Ornette Coleman and Lonnie Hillyer, trumpeter John Marshall went on to work with a succession of big bands led by Buddy Rich, Mel Lewis, Lionel Hampton, Al Porcino, Gerry Mulligan and Dizzy Gillespie.

Usdan Center For the Creative and Performing Arts (www.usdan.com), now entering its 43nd season and once again declared a 'Best Of' class or camp for 2010 by TimeOutNY/Kids, will open its series of Festival Concerts, private on-site educational performances for its students, on Monday June 28 at the Center's 200-acre woodland campus. In addition to these concerts, special workshops and master classes will be offered by visiting guest artists throughout the summer.
