Cheyenne Jackson, Alexandra Silber and More Star in San Francisco Symphony's New Live Recording of WEST SIDE STORY; Out Today!

Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) and the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) will release a new live recording of the first-ever concert performances of Leonard Bernstein's complete score for the musical West Side Story featuring a stellar Broadway cast including Cheyenne Jackson and Alexandra Silber, and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, today, June 10, 2014.

Youth Orchestra of St. Luke's Set for THE CONCERT Benefit at United Palace, 6/28

On June 28, 150 students from El Sistema programs in New York, New Jersey, and New Orleans will come together to perform a benefit concert at the United Palace. Simply titled The Concert, this event epitomizes the collaborative spirit of El Sistema, an innovative music education program built on the belief that music can act as an agent for social change. El Sistema has become a breathtaking success in Venezuela, where it originated nearly 40 years ago; over the past decade, it has expanded into a full-fledged global movement.

Pacific Symphony announces what is perhaps its most significant season to date for the 36-year-old orchestra-the 2014-15 Hal and Jeanette Segerstrom Family Foundation Classical Series and special events, celebrating Music Director Carl St. Clair's 25 years at the helm. Filled with giant stars and giants of the repertoire that have moved listeners for centuries, the season is pure St. Clair-embracing and celebrating all that great music can mean to the human heart.

The ASCAP Foundation just honored Tony Award-winning lyricist and director of Annie Martin Charnin with the first-ever ASCAP Foundation George M. Cohan Award at their 18th annual Awards Ceremony last night, December 11th. The invitation-only event, hosted by ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams, was held at the Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

New World Symphony Presents Highlights of 2013-14 Season

The New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy (NWS), is pleased to share details of our 2013-2014 season. As a research-and-development arm for classical music, the coming season includes a series of commissions, partnerships and events that showcase NWS as a laboratory for generating new ideas about the way music is taught, presented and experienced. Highlights include the commissioning and presentation of new works by emerging and established artists, the development of multi-media collaborative projects, and the continuation of innovative concert formats. These initiatives exist with the goal of developing New World Symphony Fellows, who will advance the field of classical music and become ambassadors for the art forms in their communities and beyond.

Orchestra of St. Luke's Partners with PAL on New Youth Orchestra Program

This summer, Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) introduces YouthOrchestra of St. Luke's, or YOSL, taking inspiration from youth orchestra programs around the world— including Venezuela's El Sistema—that emphasize after-school music instruction and ensemble playing as an agent for social change. This marks ashift in direction for OSL's Community & Education programs, which have evolved and expanded since OSL opened The DiMenna Center for Classical Music in 2011.

Philadelphia Orchestra Launches 2013 Summer Season Tonight at RiverStage

The Philadelphia Orchestra launches an exciting 2013 summer season tonight, July 2 with a free Neighborhood Concert under the stars on the RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing. This quintessential summer concert, presented by Wells Fargo and conducted by Philadelphia Orchestra Associate Conductor Cristian M?celaru, is followed by a spectacular fireworks display on the Delaware River. Philadelphia audiences will enjoy an array of other performances in the tri-state area this summer, with a July concert in Princeton, New Jersey's Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall-the Orchestra's first concert in Princeton in nearly 50 years; two performances at the lush Meadow at LongwoodGardens; and two weeks of concerts at the Mann in beautiful and expansive Fairmount Park.

Caramoor International Music Festival Presents POPS, PATRIOTS & FIREWORKS Tonight, 7/4

Caramoor CEO and General Director Michael Barrett will lead the Orchestra of St. Luke's in a celebratory program of "Pops, Patriots and Fireworks" tonight, July 4, at 8:00 PM in the Venetian Theater. Hosted by Jamie Bernstein, the program highlights George Gershwin's greatest works to commemorate America's Independence Day. Guest pianist John Musto will perform Rhapsody in Blue, and many of Gershwin's hit songs will be sung by Darius de Haas and Carla Jablonski. A dazzling pyrotechnic fireworks display will follow the patriotic festivities.

Peter Dinklage (GAME OF THRONES) emceed a sold-out benefit for The Play Company on Monday, April 30 at the American Airlines Theatre in Manhattan. Among those who attended CABARET GOURMET 2012 were Dinklage's wife Erica Schmidt, who directed Play Co's Obie Award-winning production of Jonas Khemiri's play INVASION!, along with producer Ruth Hendel (FELA!), The Play Company's Founding Producer Kate Loewald and Executive Producer Lauren Weigel.
