Christopher James is an American composer, producer (Paula Cole, Renée Fleming, Val Gardena) and ex-CEO of Universal Music Group’s Classical and Jazz division. An accomplished classical pianist, he earned a B.A. in Music and German Literature at Lewis and Clark College in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.

Seedling is an exciting new audio installation by Northampton artist Helen Crevel (Loop, Theatre in Black; 60 Miles by Road or Rail, 60 Miles/Carbon Theatre) focused on potential motherhood, environmental responsibility and consumerism.

Composer Christopher James's upcoming album Grace from Persistence, his third as a solo artist, represents a synthesis of musical genres from jazz and pop to classical and film music, informed not only by his early experiences scoring for film and television, but also by his many years working with leading artists and on major soundtracks as an executive and producer for Universal Music Group. Mr. James's music takes inspiration from the visual and the dramatic, and two of the ten tracks on this recording (“Grace from Persistence” and “Mother Russia”) feature accompanying video.

Singers from the Black Broadway community have joined together to create a music and mental health album of inspirational cover songs. In just two rehearsals, the Darkness RISING cast recorded an album intended for anyone who lives with anxiety, depression, bipolar, or other mental illnesses. Music has been proven be therapeutic and healing. It can provide emotional support, increase motivation, and offer an outlet for expression of feelings.

The world premiere of Martin McDonagh's A Very Very Very Dark Matter at the Bridge Theatre is directed by Matthew Dunster. The cast comprises Johnetta Eula'Mae Ackles, Alistair Benson, Elizabeth Berrington, Paul Bradley, Noah Brignull, Jim Broadbent, Phil Daniels, Regan Garcia, Leo Hart, Graeme Hawley, Audrey Hayhurst, Kundai Kanyama, Lee Knight, Jamie McKie, Ryan Pope, James Roberts, Alice Selwyn, Austin Taylor, Amelia Walter and Annabelle Westenholz-Smith including nine children who will alternate a variety of roles. The 12-week run will conclude on 6 January 2019. The London Theatre Companyproduction is designed by Anna Fleischle with lighting by Philip Gladwell, music compositions by James Maloney, sound by George Dennis, special effects by Paul Wanklin and video effects by Finn Ross.

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces the full cast for Dick Whittington, its 10th anniversary pantomime, which will be getting the full Lyric treatment. The Tragedy of Macbeth, King of Scotland is one of a handful of William Shakespeare's plays that has never wavered in its popularity or relevance. Led by supernatural forces, Macbeth kills a king and usurps the throne, each day growing in paranoia and bloody murder. His wife, the famous Lady Macbeth, guides and goads her lord husband in his evil acts until the consequences begin to break her soul. The Tragedy of Macbeth is a story of witches, dread, and murder most foul. Performances are May 24 - June 17, 2018. Thursdays through Sundays @ 8pm. Trinity Rep's seventh annual playwriting competition for New England High School students, WRITE HERE! WRITE NOW! announces this year's winning playwrights: Kate Fitzgerald (Lincoln School, Providence), Jonathan Baron (La Salle Academy, Providence), James Roberts (Putney School, Putney, VT and Emma Paulhus (Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School, MA) Each award-winning student will have their ten-minute play presented by professional actors as a staged reading at Trinity Rep on May 7, 2018 at 7 pm, a free event open to the public.

Singers and musicians from the Black Broadway community will sing inspirational cover songs from their upcoming album: Darkness RISING. The concert benefits BLK HLTH, an organization which focuses on the wellness of the Black community. The concert will be held at The Triad NYC on Monday, April 2nd at 7pm.
