After announcing this year’s list of Carbonell Award nominations last Friday, the organization quickly realized that clarifications and additions were necessary. This invariably happens with any complicated, first-time process, so the nonprofit organization ordered a recalculation of the scores in all 20 categories.
Zoetic Stage and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County will present the world premiere of GRINGOLANDIA, written by Hannah Benitez, commissioned by Zoetic Stage. GRINGOLANDIA tells the story of a Cuban family from Miami who embarks on a journey of closure, truth and cultural connection.
Palm Beach Dramaworks, the West Palm Beach theater which won the most Carbonell Awards of any theater in 2018, is now the most-nominated theater for 2019.
