Students from over 30 schools competed for the honor to represent San Diego in New York City for the National High School Musical Theatre-awards, June 25-29, 2009.

The 2009 Rising Star Award ceremony was held at Paper Mill Playhouse on Tuesday, June 16th in which the nominees performed and the award recipients were presented with a crystal award from Rising Star Award partner Tiffany?s & Co. Investors Savings Bank Foundation is the title sponsor of the 2009 Rising Star Awards.

The New York Post's PAGE SIX is reporting that James Nederlander is producing a musical version of Michael Jackson's video for his hit song ‘THRILLER'. Jackson's album of the same name is the best-selling record of all time. It spawned such hits as ‘Billie Jean', ‘Beat It', ‘The Girl Is Mine' and of course ‘Thriller'. Not much else is known other than a production is being planned.

Grease, featuring book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, opened on Broadway on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, and BroadwayWorld caught all the excitement!
