Jude Law Stars in Ivo van Hove's OBSESSION at the Barbican in 2017

Jude Law returns to the stage in April 2017 to star in the world premiere of OBSESSION, a stage adaptation of Luchino Visconti's 1943 film. It's part of Ivo van Hove's Toneelgroep Amsterdam Barbican residency, which also includes the return of their ROMAN TRAGEDIES and a double bill based on Ingmar Bergman films. All four plays will be directed by van Hove.

Ford Theatres Sets 2016 Summer Season

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission today announced the return of culturally diverse outdoor entertainment at the Ford Theatres, following nearly two years of renovations of the historic John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and its public amenities and landscape. The 2016 Summer Season, performed under the stars in the Hollywood Hills, opens on July 8 and runs through October 15. A full schedule is attached. New Adventures are delighted to announce the principal cast schedule for the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning dance thriller 'THE CAR MAN' for the final two weeks of its limited summer season at Sadler's Wells. 'THE CAR MAN' will run at Sadler's Wells from Tuesday 14 July to Sunday 9 August 2015. New Adventures are delighted to announce that international ballet superstar, Marcelo Gomes will guest star as 'Luca', the title role in the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning dance thriller "THE CAR MAN" during the four week summer season at Sadler's Wells from 14 July to 9 August 2015. He will alternate the role with the previously announced Jonathan Ollivier and Chris Trenfield; all three dancers worked together last year, sharing the role of 'The Swan' when Marcelo Gomes made his debut with New Adventures in the Tokyo Season of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. Among the heavy hitters in the history of American crime fiction, the late Elmore Leonard was something of a 'tweener': not quite as purely entertaining as Donald Westlake, not as morally serious as Patricia Highsmith or Ross MacDonald, not as stylistically interesting as Raymond Chandler or as close to the no-nonsense bone as James M. Cain (who probably makes for the best comparison).

With direction by Tony-award winner John Tiffany (Black Watch, Once) and set design by Tony-award winner Christine Jones (Spring Awakening, Queen of the Night), The Ambassador is a love letter, by turns droll and melancholic, to a city long misunderstood. It made its world premiere earlier this year at the Carolina Performing Arts, and opens tonight, December 10, at BAM for a run through December 13, 2014. The final staging will be in Los Angeles itself, at UCLA in February 2015.

Cain mystery, starring Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray. Interviewed about the new play, Billy & Ray, now playing, are director Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman, Beaches) and playwright Mike Bencivenga.
