Just in time for Valentine's Day, Musical Theatre West (MTW) brings to the stage Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, February 13 - March 1, 2015.

Light Opera Works' 2015 season will open with THE FANTASTICKS with expanded full orchestra (June 6-14), followed by SOUTH PACIFIC (August 15-30), HOLLYWOOD'S GREATEST SONG HITS (October 2-11), and GUYS AND DOLLS (December 26-January 3).

Westchester Broadway Theatre dusted off the original version of Rogers & Hammerstein's South Pacific. The show is based on the Pulitzer Prize- winning book "Tales of the South Pacific" by James A. Michener. This is not a revival of the production done a few years ago at Lincoln Center Theater.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's award-winning South Pacific is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book Tales of the South Pacific by James A. Michener. The musical is set on an island paradise during World War II and tells two parallel love stories against the dangers of prejudice and war and the importance of valuing diversity. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949. Sarah Crawford directs the Musical Theatre Heritage production and provides musical direction with Jeremy Watson.

The City of Lawrenceville will host its 9th annual PRELUDE celebration to honor America's Day of Independence tonight, July 3rd 2014 at 7:30pm. The event will feature the classic Broadway musical, South Pacific - performed by the award-winning Aurora Theatre followed by Fireworks. Free to the public, Lawrenceville's PRELUDE event will be held on the Lawrenceville Square by the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse.

Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the Saturday, June 21 performance of Grounded, by George Brant and directed by Lisa Portes, at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. is a benefit performance for Children of War Foundation. Proceeds from the performance will go directly to surgery and medical treatment for Shah Bibi Tarakhail, an Afghan Child Affected by War. The running time is approximately 80 minutes.
