On Monday, May 11, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Apollo Link, Broadway''s premier vocal trio. After half-a-million YouTube hits, the trio brought original arrangements, impeccable harmonies and powerful vocals to the historic music room. The trio performed fan favorites like "Chandelier," "Latch", "Shake It Off," "At Last," "Jealous," and many more. Scroll down for photos!
Apollo Link, which formed (as "The Spidey Boys") in the winter of 2012, is comprised of Brandon Rubendall (Spider-Man, Anything Goes, Wicked), Adam Roberts (Spider-Man, Pippin) and Jake Odmark (Spider-Man, Kinky Boots), the latter being the group's sole music arranger. The trio met and began developing their sound while performing on Broadway in the web-slinging musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which incidentally also inspired the group's name. There, in the Foxwoods Theater's acoustic hallways, they found their blend re-imagining everything from classic holiday tunes to today's top 40 hits.
The award-winning Broadway at Birdland concert series is a weekly event at Birdland, which is located in the heart of the Theater District. Check out BirdlandJazz.com for more information.
