FROM THE FACTORY FLOOR will feature songs from over fifteen new musicals and all proceeds from the event will benefit future development programs at MTF.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestra's begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven- o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Musical Theatre Factory will send its first two productions, THE DISAPPERING MAN and ONE WOMAN SHOW, to TheatreWorks Palo Alto's New Works Festival, August 9-17. The Festival has launched many new works onto TheatreWorks' stages and on to productions nationally, including Broadway's MEMPHIS and off-Broadway's STRIKING 12, EQUIVOCATION, and THE NORTH POOL.

The Musical Theatre Factory (MTF), under the leadership of founding Artistic Director Shakina Nayfack and Managing Director Danny Abosch, announces the opening of a new midtown black box rehearsal and performance space with a full summer season dedicated to the development of new musical theatre. Musical Theatre Factory operates as a volunteer-based cooperative of artists and arts administrators committed to a process of peer evaluation and the cultivation of new work, free from the pressures of critical or commercial success.

Two additional performances of ONE WOMAN SHOW have been added to Shakina's limited engagement at Sophie's, New York's newest midtown cabaret venue. Extending the sold-out run, new shows have been added May 1st at 10:30pm and May 2nd at 11pm.

On Monday, March 3, Musical Theatre Factory presented the second edition of 'Songs by Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists you Probably Don't Know but Should,' celebrating the work of emerging musical theatre writers mentored by two-time Tony Award winner William Finn.
