SHORT MOVIE MUSICAL FESTIVAL Set for This Weekend at Musical Theatre Factory

Today, August 22 and tomorrow, August 23 at 8PM Musical Theatre Factory will be presenting seven new movie musicals in the MTF Short Movie Musical Festival. The festival concludes on Sunday, August 24th at 5pm, with a roundtable discussion discussing the movies shown in the festival, as well as a conversation with festival participants about where the short movie musical form is heading.

The movie musicals featured in MTF'S Short Movie Musical Festival are VIVACE! (Music, Lyrics, and Directed by Ben Feuer), ZOMBIE MUSICAL (Music by Nikko Benson, Lyrics by Benjamin Halstead, Directed by Dagny Looper), BOYCRAZY (Music by Trevor Cushman, Lyrics and Directed by John Sobrack), AIRPLANE (Music and Lyrics by Jahn Sood, Directed by Laura Lancaster), HOMOPHONY (Music by Johann Strauss, Malcom Berthou, and Sean-Michael Rau, Directed by Benjamin Halstead), A NEW MUSICAL (Music by Noel Carey, Julia Mattison, Blake Pfeil, and Assaf Gleizner, Lyrics by Noel Carey, Julia Mattison, Blake Pfeil, and Ryan McGovern, Directed by Ryan McGovern), and GRIND (Music by Derek Gregor, Lyrics by Selda Sahin, Written and Directed by Zachary Halley, and starring Anthony Rapp and Claire Coffee).

The Musical Theatre Factory Short Movie Musical Festival takes place August 22nd and August 23rd at 8pm and has a $15 suggested donation at the door. $12 advance reservations can be made online at http://musicaltheatrefactory.org/events/mtf-short-movie-musical-festival/. Musical Theatre Factory is located at 250 West 40th Street (between 7th & 8th Ave) on the fourth floor.

The Musical Theatre Factory Short Movie Musical Festival is presented as part of The Musical Theatre Factory's inaugural summer season. MTF is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping musical theatre artists develop and present new work in a collaborative atmosphere free from the pressures of critical or financial success.
