Newly adapted by David Hare and directed by Jonathan Kent, YOUNG CHEKHOV: THE BIRTH OF A GENIUS, which opens tonight 17 October, presents a unique theatrical event which will see a repertory cast of 23 actors performing 50 parts in PLATONOV, IVANOV and THE SEAGULL. For the first time ever on this scale, audiences will be given the opportunity to see all three shows in close proximity performed by the same group and with the same creative team. The first pictures are released today for a major new season of Anton Chekhov's early works at Chichester Festival Theatre. Newly adapted by David Hare and directed by Jonathan Kent, the productions present a unique theatrical event which will see a repertory cast of 23 actors performing 50 parts in Platonov, Ivanov and The Seagull. For the first time ever on this scale audiences will be given the opportunity to see all three shows in close proximity performed by the same group and with the same creative team.  Check out the rehearsal photos below!

Full Cast Announced for THE FATHER at Tricycle Theatre

The full cast is announced today for The Father, transferring to the Tricycle Theatre following a hugely successful, critically acclaimed run last year at the Ustinov Studio in Bath. Kenneth Cranham, Rebecca Charles, Colin Tierney and Jade Williams reprise their original roles and are joined by new cast members Claire Skinner and Jim Sturgeon. The production opens on 12 May, with previews from 7 May, and runs until 13 June.

Arthur Darvill, who is best known for his role as the Doctor's current companion Rory in BBC's Doctor Who, will play Mephistopheles in Shakespeare's Globe's first production of Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus. Paul Hilton, who was recently seen in the BBC drama Silk, will play the title role of the scholar who makes a pact with the devil in exchange for knowledge. The production will run from 18 June to 2 October and is directed by Matthew Dunster and designed by Paul Wills. They will both collaborate with Puppetry Director Steve Tiplady, former Artistic Director of Little Angel Theatre Company, to transform the Globe in to an arena of wild spectacle with larger than life puppets and illusion. Huge flying dragons and horned stilt walkers will help to bring this dark fantastical world to life.
