Azuka Theatre to Present MOON CAVE, 3/4-22

Azuka Theatre's mission is to give voice to the people whose stories go unheard; the outcasts and underdogs. The company's latest work showcases that mission in a dark and ultimately beautiful world premiere by a rising local talent. Douglas Williams' latest work, Moon Cave, debuts March 4-22 at the Off Broad Street Theatre, 1636 Sansom Street. Opening night is Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $15-$25. PEW-ISH Premieres in NYC Tomorrow

PEW-ISH, an unusual new project to expand the conversation about Jewish identity, especially among unaffiliated Jews, will launch with a special dramatic production of 10 new plays tomorrow, June 26, at the Loft at Judson Memorial Church in New York.

Jacqueline Goldfinger and Jennifer MacMillan Win Playscripts, Inc's Inaugural ARE WOMEN FUNNY? Contest

Jacqueline Goldfinger and Jennifer MacMillan are the inaugural winners of the Are Women Funny? contest sponsored by Playscripts, Inc. and the International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP). Their one-act play for high school students, Enter Bogart, has been chosen for publication out of hundreds of entries. In addition to the publication of their play, Goldfinger and MacMillan will receive a $1,000 prize, and a year membership to ICWP.

Azuka Theatre to Present World Premiere of SKIN & BONE, Begin. 3/8

In March, Azuka Theatre continues its season with the World Premiere of Jacqueline Goldfinger's Skin & Bone. This play begins previews on March 5, opens Saturday, March 8 at 7 p.m., and closes March 23. Tickets cost $20 - $25 and are available at AzukaTheatre.org or (215) 563-1100. All shows will be performed at Azuka's home at The Off-Broad Street Theater, 1636 Sansom Street.

Theatre Philadelphia Celebrates 2013 with Awards Ceremony

Last night, Theatre Philadelphia celebrated the past year in theatre across the region by presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award, cash awards totaling $56,500, and a masquerade after-party that featured performances of some of the highlights of the previous theatre season. Over 400 theatre artists, administrators and supporters attended the sold out ceremony and party held at Arden Theatre Company in Old City. Theatre Philadelphia Announces Nominees for Four Barrymore Awards; Sets 2013 Ceremony for Today

As the new Barrymore Awards system gets underway for the 2013/14 season, Theatre Philadelphia is thrilled to announce its 2013 Theatre Celebration will be held the evening of Today, November 4 at Arden Theatre Company. Four Barrymore Awards will be presented at this year's ceremony: the Lifetime Achievement Award, the F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Theatre Artist, the Brown Martin Philadelphia Award, and the brand new Steve and June Wolfson Award for an Evolving Theatre.

InterAct Theatre Company and the New York based company, The One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) today announce their joint presentation of the First Philadelphia One-Minute Play Festival, to be performed tonight, July 29th-31st 2013 at 8:00 PM EST. Following sold-out performances in a dozen other cities, this festival serves as the culmination of a yearlong collaboration between the two companies after engaging in community and consensus building workshop sessions with local artists since August of 2012.

Tiny Dynamite Productions Announces Second Season of A PLAY, A PIE, and A PINT

Tiny Dynamite Productions are pleased to announce that the second season of 'a Play, a Pie and a Pint' will begin on March 6th 2012 at The Red Room of The Society Hill Playhouse. The season will run for four weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm. A new show will be produced each week and will be served up alongside a pie (slice of pizza) and a pint (or beverage of choice).
