PEW-ISH, an unusual new project to expand the conversation about Jewish identity, especially among unaffiliated Jews, will launch with a special dramatic production of 10 new plays tomorrow, June 26, at the Loft at Judson Memorial Church in New York.
Jacqueline Goldfinger and Jennifer MacMillan are the inaugural winners of the Are Women Funny? contest sponsored by Playscripts, Inc. and the International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP). Their one-act play for high school students, Enter Bogart, has been chosen for publication out of hundreds of entries. In addition to the publication of their play, Goldfinger and MacMillan will receive a $1,000 prize, and a year membership to ICWP.
In March, Azuka Theatre continues its season with the World Premiere of Jacqueline Goldfinger's Skin & Bone. Last night, Theatre Philadelphia celebrated the past year in theatre across the region by presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award, cash awards totaling $56,500, and a masquerade after-party that featured performances of some of the highlights of the previous theatre season. Over 400 theatre artists, administrators and supporters attended the sold out ceremony and party held at Arden Theatre Company in Old City. Tiny Dynamite Productions are pleased to announce that the second season of 'a Play, a Pie and a Pint' will begin on March 6th 2012 at The Red Room of The Society Hill Playhouse. The season will run for four weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm.
