PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, THE ELEPHANT MAN and More Make Up Georgia Ensemble Theatre's 2014-15 Season

A packed theatre of patrons at last night's opening performance of Camelot was treated to the announcement of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's (GET's) 2014-2015 Season lineup of plays which is filled with musical favorites, powerhouse drama, comedy and a world premiere. Artistic Director Robert J. Farley proudly stood before the crowd for the presentation of plays that are sure to thrill patrons new and old. North Fulton's only professional theatre company is the artistic home to more than 2500 subscribers, as well as dedicated individual ticket buyers who frequent the Roswell-based company throughout the year with its extensive mainstage, theatre for youth, education, and outreach programming. Farley says about the season unveiling, 'I am so very excited about the public announcement of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's 22nd season of professional theatre. These stories represent such great depth, and the talent of the writing that we'll be bringing to the stage beginning in September is astounding. Clearly, Atlanta theatre patrons are just as excited as I am as evidenced by the great feedback we are getting and the already brisk subscription sales.' Georgia Ensemble Theatre is based out of the Roswell Cultural Arts Center in historic Roswell, located at 950 Forrest Street, Roswell, GA.

Aurora Theatre Opens LOMBARDI Tonight

The Brand Signature Series at Aurora Theatre continues with Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered - A Life of Vince Lombardi written by David Maraniss. The show runs tonight, January 16 through February 9, 2014.

VIP Fundraiser with Former NFL Starsfor Aurora Theatre, Gwinnett Medical Center Set for 1/14

Support two of Gwinnett's great non-profits on January 14 at Aurora Theatre. Guests will get a chance to rub elbows with former NFL players and get an exclusive sneak-peek at The Brand Signature Series production Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered - A Life of Vince Lombardi written by David Maraniss. The idea came from former Detroit Lion and Life After the Game founder, LaMar Campbell who thought this event would be a great way to support the arts in our community and bring awareness and support to the new Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center. Concussion safety and treatment is a topic near and dear to many current and former NFL stars and Mr. Campbell has thrown his full support behind this event. With that in mind, several former NFL greats scheduled to attend, including: David Greene (UGA & Seattle Seahawks), Chuck Smith (Atlanta Falcons), Matt Stinchcomb (UGA, Oakland Raiders & Tampa Bay Buccaneers), as well as Super Bowl Champions from the Green Bay Packers - Eric Matthews and Georgia Tech alum Dorsey Levens. And more are expected. Tickets include a VIP reception at the theatre at 7pm and the show beginning at 8pm. The cost to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event is just $25 and the proceeds benefit the Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center and Aurora Theatre.

Aurora Theatre to Present LOMBARDI, 1/16-2/9

The Brand Signature Series at Aurora Theatre continues with Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered - A Life of Vince Lombardi written by David Maraniss. The show runs January 16 through February 9, 2014. Although football's Super Bowl trophy is named for him, few know the real story of Vince Lombardi - his inspirations, his passions and his ability to drive people to achieve what they never thought possible. In the play, a diligent young reporter named Michael McCormick takes us inside the life of this legendary icon. Lombardi ran on Broadway in 2010-2011 coinciding with Green Bay's championship run which culminated with the Packers being awarded the Lombardi trophy for their victory in Super Bowl XLV.

Stage Door Players' THE GAME'S AFOOT Opens 12/6

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS, Dunwoody's own professional theatre company, continues its 40th Anniversary Season with The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays by Ken Ludwig, directed by Robert Egizio. The regional premiere opens on Friday, December 6, 8pm curtain, and runs until December 22. The show features some of Atlanta's top talent: Cara Mantella, Jackie Prucha, Jacob York, among others. Subscription and single tickets are on sale now at the box office (770-396-1726), or online at www.stagedoorplayers.net. Subscriptions for the remainder of the season start at $96, single tickets for The Game's Afoot are $27. Senior, student and youth discounts are available. Previews are $15. Tennessee Rep Extends THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Through 11/2

Due to popular demand, Tennessee Repertory Theatre has extended its production of the classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. Performances have been added through Saturday, November 2, with tickets for the added performances going on sale on Monday, October 7 at 10 am. The Importance of Being Earnest runs October 12 - November 2 at TPAC's Johnson Theater (with preview performances October 10 - 11).

Tennessee Rep to Stage THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, 10/12-26

Tennessee Repertory continues its 29th season of live, professional theatre with Oscar Wilde's classic comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. The Importance of Being Earnest runs October 12 - 26 at TPAC's Johnson Theater (with preview performances October 10-11).

CLYDE 'N BONNIE Leads in 2012 Suzi Bass Awards Nominations!

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2011-2012 Atlanta professional theatrical season this evening to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, GA. The spacious lobby allowed guests to enjoy drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate their colleagues. Guest announcers, Atlanta's own funny men Bryan Brendle, Bart Hansard, Tony Larkin, Aurora Theatre artistic director Tony Rodriguez and Scott Warren shared the list of nominees while playfully riffing on the 2011/2012 Atlanta theatre season.

Aurora Theatre’s THE FOX ON THE FAIRWAY Begins Tonight, 5/3

Aurora Theatre ends its season with The Fox on the Fairway opening tonight, May 3, 2012. The play is written by Ken Ludwig (Lend Me a Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) who 'hits a hole-in-one with his tribute to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s. Love and money are in the rough at the Quail Valley Country Club. Two rival country club owners waggle around mistaken identities and play through over-the-top romantic shenanigans in order to stay on the fairway and ace a happy ending. This uproarious golf comedy promises to hit the sweet spot.'
