Stage Door Players' THE GAME'S AFOOT Opens 12/6

STAGE DOOR PLAYERS, Dunwoody's own professional theatre company, continues its 40th Anniversary Season with The Game's Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays by Ken Ludwig, directed by Robert Egizio. The regional premiere opens on Friday, December 6, 8pm curtain, and runs until December 22. The show features some of Atlanta's top talent: Cara Mantella, Jackie Prucha, Jacob York, among others. It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of holiday revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Danger and hilarity are non-stop in this comedy whodunit set during the Christmas holidays, by the author who brought us Lend Me A Tenor.

Bryan Brendle plays William Gillette, the dynamic and charming stage actor, Amanda Cucher is Madge Geisel, wry, outspoken, and game for anything; Jenny Holden plays Aggie Wheeler, the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed ingénue of the company; Cara Mantella is Daria Chase, the theatre critic everyone loves to hate; John Markowski is Simon Bright, an enthusiastic young man eager to please, recently wed to Aggie; Jackie Prucha is Martha Gillette, Gillette's dotty mother, elegant though a bit foggy; Holly Stevenson is our Inspector Goring, always off the mark, and yet never far from the truth; and Jacob York plays Felix Geisel, Gillette's dearest friend who's given his life to the stage. The show is directed by Robert Egizio.
