Joining the all-star line-up for the 39th annual edition of PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH, the country's longest-running live national July 4 TV tradition, are Broadway star and two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (BANDSTAND) plus Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and R&B legendsThe O'Jays. Osnes, whose distinguished Broadway career includes starring roles in CINDERELLA, BONNIE & CLYDE and ANYTHING GOES, will perform a medley of patriotic songs accompanied by the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own." The O'Jays, the legendary trio behind such classics as "I Love Music" and "Use Ta Be My Girl," will perform their Grammy Hall of Fame inducted Billboard Hot 100 # 1 hit song "Love Train." This April, the O'Jays debuted "The Last Word," their first studio album in 15 years, and what the band has announced will be their final album.

Then I started to hear from people who actually have seen her in concert and raved about her. It became quite clear it would be necessary for me to see this musician for myself.
MOTOWN: The Musical and Helen Hayes nominee N'Kenge, returned this season to Houston Symphony Orchestra for the Ella Fitzgerald Songbook Concert under the baton of Maestro Steven Reineke. The show celebrates the great jazz era showcasing some of the most timeless musical gems like Stormy Weather, One for my Baby, Come Rain Come Shine and more. For its first Pops Series performance of the 2018 / 2019 season, the NAC Orchestra is paying tribute to the famous composer / lyricist team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II by performing some of their most beloved songs in the newly renovated orchestra shell of the National Arts Centre.
Led by conductor Maestro Jack Everly, the NAC Orchestra was in fine form, providing music not only from Rodgers & Hammerstein's most popular musicals, but delivering some lessor known melodies, such as the overture to the 1961 film, Flower Drum Song.
Two choirs, the Calixa-Lavallee Ensemble and the Ewashko Singers, provided beautiful harmonies to complement the guest vocals.
The three featured vocalists, handpicked by Maestro Everly, were Laura Osnes, Ben Crawford and Ted Keegan. All three were simply spectacular, with the twice Tony-nominated Osnes channeling Julie Andrews in the opening number, 'The Sound of Music', and again in 'My Favorite Things'.

Grammer will perform his hit "Back Home," the lead single from his Gold-certified album Magazines or Novels, on America's national Independence Day celebration. Gospel singer Jade will open the show with a performance of the "National Anthem."
