The CUNY Dance Initiative, an expansive program providing New York City choreographers and dance companies with creative residencies on CUNY campuses and beyond, revealed the awarded artists for its 2025-26 cycle.

His beginnings were as a chorus boy in Hollywood movie musicals of the 1950s, in classic films like There's No Business Like Show Business, Brigadoon, White Christmas, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. With his thatch of jet-black hair, George Chakiris was highly visible behind Cyd Charisse, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Mitzi Gaynor, Donald O'Connor, Danny Kaye, Marilyn Monroe and Debbie Reynolds.

Multi-Award Winning Director/Choreographer Chet Walker passed away peacefully on  ​​​​​​​Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home in Cornelius, North Carolina, from a glioblastoma tumor.  His devoted husband Jack, their beloved daughter Charlie, and close family were at his side.
