Presented by The Barn Stage Company, Cabaret at The Merc's Summer Series returns in August with the irreverent and award-winning musical URINETOWN. The show runs Thursday-Sunday for two weekends at The Truax Building in Old Town Temecula. This 2002 Tony Award winning comedy satirizes the legal system, social irresponsibility, populism, and corporate mismanagement. URINETOWN will be directed by J. Scott Lapp, with Musical Direction by Taylor Peckham and choreography by Chelsea Nicole.

Directed by Susan Jordan DeLeon who starred last year in their sold out production of Next To Normal, this beautiful piece of theater follows two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Directed by Susan Jordan DeLeon who starred last year in their sold out production of Next To Normal, this beautiful piece of theater follows two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show's unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.

The 2nd Annual Summer Series kicks off with Jason Robert Brown's The Last 5 Years July 23-August 2. Two special industry-only readings of ZAPATA! The Musical have been announced and will take place in New York City on April 15 and 16. Luke Caliente Productions will present the new musical which has music and lyrics by Peter Edwards with a book by Peter & Ana Edwards. Direction will be helmed by J. Scott Lapp.
