Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center Reopens Today with Susan Weil Exhibition

The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center (BMCM+AC) celebrates the completion of the first phase of its renovation and expansion in downtown Asheville with the presentation of poemumbles: 30 years of Susan Weil's poem/images. Curated by Brian E. Butler, University of North Carolina Asheville Thomas Howerton Distinguished Professor of the Humanities, and Rachael Inch, Susan Weil Studio archivist and administrator, the exhibition is on view January 30 - May 23, and is accompanied by a roster of public programs. The exhibition includes over 60 of Weil's poemumbles made between 1984 and 2014. Additionally, several of her notebooks will be on display to provide a deeper look into her artistic process.

Stephen Lee Anderson, Stephen Bogardus, Patti Cohenour and More to Lead Steve Martin's BRIGHT STAR at The Old Globe; Walter Bobbie Directs!

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

Double Dragon Publishing Releases List of July Titles

In July, Double Dragon Publishing released six new titles in the genres of thrillers and fantasies. They are: July Releases from Double Dragon Publishing: "The Lazarus Experiment" by Mark Degasperi "Twisted Tails VIII" compiled by J Richard Jacobs, "The Black Mountain" by Kyra Dune "Dillinger's Deception" by Ronald K Myers "End of an Era" by Christopher Lee Buckner These releases introduced both established authors and newcomers to Double Dragon readers. "End of an Era by Christopher Lee Buckner is the first entry in a new science fiction series, Conquest of Heroes, which was originally developed as an online role-playing game. "Dillinger's Deception" by Ronald K. Myers is this author's second novel published by Double Dragon Publishing. J. Richard Jacobs has compiled all of the Twisted Tails anthologies. This latest will be Number VIII, featuring "some of the weirdest creatures ever to grace a page." Kyra Dune is a veteran writer for the publishing house, offering another fantasy, "The Black Mountain." Double Dragon welcomes new author Mark Degasperi with his thriller "The Lazarus Experiment." Double Dragon Publishing is located in Ontario, Canada, offering over 1200 titles in e-book,print, and other formats.

Westchester Broadway Theatre Hosts Memorial Concert for Dorina DiLullo Tonight

A bright light and close friend of the New York theater community, peers and performers will collaborate in a one night only cabaret style performance to honor Dorina Di Lullo, who passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2013 at the age of 44. Survived by her husband Charles J. Richardson and two sons, Charlie and Bennett, all proceeds from this concert will go directly to the Dorina Di Lullo Memorial Trust, set up to lend aid to her children and loved ones in the wake of her passing.
