Hollywood Records have signed 11-year-old JD McCrary to an exclusive recording deal. McCrary, who is the youngest artist to ever be signed to the label, will play the role of Young Simba in the highly anticipated live action remake of The Lion King, due for release in 2019, alongside Donald Glover and Beyoncé.

In celebration of the 2018 BET Awards in Los Angeles, Domani Harris, was invited to perform on the BETX Coca-Cola stage on Saturday June 23rd. Domani, a rising rap star and son to hip hop legend T.I., performed alongside a live band new tracks off his recently released project AMYGDALA. Fans rushed to the stage in the Los Angeles Convention Center to enjoy the soulful rap experience that Domani provided. This was Domani's first major performance and proves he's got a bright music career ahead of him.

The 2018 BET Awards took place Sunday at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater, Kendrick Lamar taking home to most prizes, for best male hip hop artist and album of the year for “DAMN.” Beyonce was crowned the best female R&B/pop artist, and Cardi B won for best female hip hop artist. Anita Baker received the lifetime achievement award.

YouTuber Andy Goldenberg aka 'Goldentusk' was recently named as a finalist in the 2nd Annual AT&T Shape Create-a-Thon at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. 64 filmmaking teams were given the opportunity to shoot a short film on the studio lot, and now four nominees will compete for Best Overall Mobile Film and the chance to take home $10,000 for their production team.

These directors join the previously announced line-up including 'Queen Sugar' producing director DeMane Davis, Patricia Cardoso, Shaz Bennett, Maria Govan and Lauren Wolkstein. Continuing the creative initiative established in the show's first season by series creator and executive producer DuVernay to hire all female directorial teams, the series has employed 26 female directors to date. The series airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN.
