Christoph Eschenbach will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a program of music by German and Austrian composers from three centuries: the U.S. Premiere of Matthias Pintscher's towards Osiris, Berg's Violin Concerto with Pinchas Zukerman as soloist, and Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1, arranged by Schoenberg, Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 20, at 8:00 p.m.

She has appeared often as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Venezuela, Orquesta Sinfonica Sociedad Filarmonica de Mexico, Florida Philharmonic, Sinfonica de Maracaibo, Symphony of the Americas, Festival Miami, Amigos Canarios de la Musica, and Orquesta Sinfonica del Peru, among others. She is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music and also holds a Doctor's degree from the University of Miami. An active proponent of Ibero American music, Velia has premiered major works by classical composers of the Americas and Spain. She recently released a landmark recording of the complete volume of Cuban Dances by Ignacio Cervantes -Adios a Cuba
